Common questions
What unit leaders ask most, before and after they buy. Something missing? Ask on Discord.
Before you buy
What does each player need?
The TeamSpeak 3 client on Windows (not TeamSpeak 5 or 6), your unit's TeamSpeak server, and our plugin. Each player pairs once: /pair in Roblox, then /radio pair in TeamSpeak (2.5).
Do players need to install anything in Roblox?
No. They join your game as normal. The only installs are TeamSpeak 3 and our plugin.
Does it work alongside other TeamSpeak radio plugins?
No. They use the same part of TeamSpeak, so switch them off on every player's PC (2.4 names them and shows how). One player with one still on is enough to break the sound for others.
Does our voice go through your servers?
No. Speech stays in TeamSpeak. Our relay only carries positions and radio settings.
A player is on a Mac, or hasn't installed the plugin. What happens?
They can still play, but while they're in the game the players who have the plugin won't hear them, and their screen says NOBODY CAN HEAR YOU. Everyone who talks needs TeamSpeak 3 on Windows.
Games and licences
What does one licence cover?
$18, paid once. Two Roblox games you own, with every place inside them. Hosting and updates are included.
Our game belongs to a Roblox group. Who sets it up?
The group's owner signs in and registers the game. Roblox doesn't tell us what an officer's rank allows, so only the owner can. It takes two minutes (1.2).
And a game on my own account?
Sign in with that account and register it yourself. Nobody else is involved.
Setting up
How long does setup take?
About half an hour the first time: run the installer, paste the scripts, add your server password, install the plugin, pair. Chapter 2 walks through it.
Do we have to host anything?
No. The relay is hosted by us. You install the scripts in your game and the plugin on each PC.
Do I need to edit code?
No. Every setting is in one file, RadioSettings, and each one says in plain words what it does (4.1).
Performance
Will it slow our game down?
The server works out who hears whom 5 times a second. With 30 simulated players that takes under 1 millisecond each time. The largest real test so far is three players; a unit test with up to 60 is next.
What if your relay goes down?
TeamSpeak keeps working: everyone hears each other as plain TeamSpeak, without positions or radio effects, until it's back. The status page shows it.
Money
Can we get a refund?
Within 14 days of buying, if Brevity can't be made to work in your game and our support couldn't fix it. Tell us on Discord first so we can try. Not because an event is over or the unit changed its mind (Refunds).
Is it a subscription?
No. Paid once, and updates are included.
